Many women dream of the day they will meet their first child. Not all women mind you, but many of them have dreams of a family. From the first day they find out they are pregnant until the day they deliver, they are full of pregnancy questions. Some of these questions are easily answered and others are not so simple. When you have kids, you have to think about a monstrous number of issues. It can be mind boggling for most parents, and there are often times we may forget to talk to our children about certain issues. One important issue that you should make a priority is teenage pregnancy. Though talking about drugs and drinking is very important, you cannot leave out this important issue. You have to do more than talk about however, you have to find a way to make it hit home with your kids.

Okay, you are pregnant what do you do now? There is so much to think about and to do before the baby comes that it may all overwhelm you, but don't let it. Always remember you have 40 weeks for which you and your family can prepare for your new addition.
You should through this entire process and well really even after take care of your self. You want to make sure you get enough exercise with out overdoing it. If you have always been active physically, continue as before. If you feel tired, your body is telling you, you need to slow down and rest. Listen to your body as to not cause harm to your self or the fetus.

If your spouse is a smoker, it is imperative that she give up cigarettes, at least while she is carrying the baby.

Melasma/Mask of Pregnancy: One may find some kind of discoloration of the skin in the end of the second trimester or in the start of third one. Commonly it occurs on cheek, forehead, nose or the upper lips. These dark and irregular patches are because of increased hormones. They tend to fade away after the baby’s birth. Protect yourself against it by minimum exposure to sun and applying sunscreen before going out.

It seems that no matter how many advances are made by medical science, Mother Nature still has the upper hand in determining outcomes. Help your spouse steer clear of these pregnancy no-nos to help keep her and the baby safe and healthy:
* Avoid fish with lots of mercury in her diet. Get correct information from your dietician on what fish to eat and what fish to avoid when she is pregnant.
* Don't disregard food borne illness. Eat, cook, handle and clean food safely! According to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, food borne illness can cause serious health problems - or even death for both mother and baby.
