Okay, you are pregnant what do you do now? There is so much to think about and to do before the baby comes that it may all overwhelm you, but don't let it. Always remember you have 40 weeks for which you and your family can prepare for your new addition.

You should through this entire process and well really even after take care of your self. You want to make sure you get enough exercise with out overdoing it. If you have always been active physically, continue as before. If you feel tired, your body is telling you, you need to slow down and rest. Listen to your body as to not cause harm to your self or the fetus.

Make sure you maintain or start good eating habits. That doesn’t mean start eating more, you are not eating for two, the baby is not going to start feasting on fried chicken and mashed potatoes if that is what you might be craving at this moment. The baby does take in the calcium, vitamins, minerals, proteins from the food you eat.  So when eating make sure to get a good mix of proteins, fruits, vegetables, good breads and grains, high cal sum foods (yogurt, milk, cheese - 3 servings) and unsaturated fats (olive oil, low fat salad dressing, almonds and cashews).

Make sure you get enough sleep as making a baby is hard work and you need to make sure you and the baby have the energy needed. Make sure you bed is firm, use lots of pillow for your legs and back to help keep your self comfortable. Sleep on your side to encourage good blood flow. (Some ti

mes putting a pillow between your legs is helpful.) And take naps if needed.

A big part of taking care of your self is making sure your mental well being is being looked after as well. You will perspire more in pregnancy so daily bathing may be comfortable as well as hygienic. Make a nice atmosphere, light some candles use nice smelling bath oils and relax. (Do be careful getting in and out of the tub as you get heavier). Never use saunas, hot tubs, whirlpools, and tanning beds, these divert blood from fetus and may cause fainting. Sexual activity is normal in a healthy relations ship, so talk about it explore different positions and methods, but do not ignore it. It is important that you feel loved and wanted during this time as well as it is important for your partner to feel loved and wanted.

Always talk to your significant other and family members so you and they are prepared for the unexpected. Share your hopes for the birth such as pain management and positions. Discuss all options for labor and get all the information you need to make informed decisions.

You will want to start preparing for the babies arrival such as infant car seats, feeding methods, preparing a sleeping area for baby. Child birth classes. Many hospitals hold these classes as well as other parenting and such classes you may want to explore. Always take other siblings in to considerations so they feel a part of the process.

Many things in your life and your families life will change, but if you educate your self and prepare this will all be an exciting experience.
